My living room coffee table has a shelf on the underside and it was always a mess. Finally I picked up a couple baskets (on sale!) at Michaels in an attempt to organize it. I wanted baskets with a lining I could wash if I needed to. I also wanted ones that were tall enough that you couldn't see inside them from above. These two were perfect!
I filled the baskets with my unread magazines (Real Simple, National Geographic Traveler and Entertainment Weekly) and other odds and ends.
The baskets turned my messy coffee table shelf into a sleek, organized area. Also, when I have unexpected guests I can toss any stray items on the top of the table into one of the baskets.
